Prophesy has slipped to a career-low mark and rates a solid bet at 9/2 to take advantage and score an overdue success in the 5.05 at Carlisle today now returned to the scene of his last success.

The gelding hasn’t won since scoring over course and distance back in August 2012 when trained by Declan Carroll, where he beat Hurler And Farmer by 3/4 of a length off a mark of 79.

He got put up to 85 for that victory, and went on to rin some solid races to be placed last season.

Among them was a good third of 12 to Chancery in a decent class 4 handicap at York off  77 and a solid second to Don Padeja at Leicester off 75.

The five-year-old now gets into this off just 66 – a massive 13lb lower than when last successful.

It gives Prophesy outsnading claims from a handicapping perspective, and he has shaped as if coming back to form in his last two starts after joining Tim Easterby at the beginning of the season.

If he can build on those efforts then he looks weighted to take all the beating, and this looks a golden opportunity for Prohesy to belatedly get back in the winners’ enclosure.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Prophesy (9/2 BetVictor, Boylesports, Coral, Ladbrokes – BOG)
