Robin Will looks well treated on his first start in handicap chase company in the 5.00 at Cheltenham today and is strongly fancied at 13/2.

Richard Woollacott’s charge built on his success in point-to-points when cruising home hard held to win a 3m maiden hunter chase at Leicester back in February and followed up with a facile 27 length win over 3m at Exeter off a rating of 127.

He then got turned over at 4/9 when finsihing third of 8 to Regal Rumpus at Exeter, but the drop back to 2m 4f that day was against him and he is far better than what he showed in that contest.

The eight-year-old then looked poised to get back to winning ways when slithering and unseating his rider two from home when last seen in action at Uttoxeter back in May, and looks the type that could do really well in this season in staying handicap chases.

He looks as if he has plenty more to offer, and his opening handicap mark of 119 looks very lenient to me given his progressive profile.

The gelding also has the added benefit of having the services in the saddle of crack amateur rider Derek O’Connor and everything looks in pkace for a huge run.

Daiuly Sport recommended bet: 3pts each-way Robin Will (13/2 BetVictor, Paddy Power – BOG)
