Germany look worth a bet at 2/1 with BetVictor and Coral to win their semi-final game against Brazil tonight (9pm KO, Live on BBC1).

Joachim Low’ side have impressed so far and had little difficulty disposing of France in the previous round, where they played their usual sharp, cutting and controlled football.

They have the excellent combination of a solid defence and powerful attacking midfielder, and in Thomas Muller a natural born goalscoring who has netted four times so far.

To me they are going to be very tough for the hosts to beat, especially as the Selecao are without star striker Neymar as well as captain and defender Thiago Silva.

They are both major losses for Brazil, especially Neymar who had carried the team into the quarter-finals before getting badly injured in a horror tackles.

Thiago has also very influential at the heart of Brazil’s defence, which has looked very shakey since day one of the tournament.

Head coach Phil Scholari will have to reshuffle his attacking side, and I can see the Germans capitalising and hitting them on the break.

I fancy the Germans top win 1-0, and that scoreline can be backed at 7/1 with Paddy Power.

The other bet that looks a rock solid punt is under 2.5 goals at 4/7 with BetVictor and 888sport.
