Guess what I did last week?

Go on, take a guess… did I get a new puppy? Go on holiday? Win the lottery perhaps? Yes to them all! You see I had a breast enlargement surgery so I guess I’ve got two huge new puppies, it was in Turkey and the weather was gorgeous, and I feel as though I’ve won the lottery because I now have the body of my dreams! If you guessed right then pat yourself on the back and have a cookie – it’s time to celebrate the new me!

With my 32nd birthday approaching (October 13th) I couldn’t resist treating myself to some new breasts and so I booked myself in with Dr Serbulent Guzey of The SG Clinic in Istanbul, Turkey to take me from a juicy 30FF to twice the size by doubling my implants.

I adore the female form and have long since celebrated the art and appreciation of bodies. Every curve, contour and limb is so beautiful and incredibly unique to us all. I train my body with weights and endurance in order to be slim and athletic, but born flat-chested I have used surgery to create the womanly curves that I craved.

Flying to Turkey alone for the week wasn’t as daunting as it seems, as I was collected from the airport in Istanbul and chauffeur driven to my hotel the night before surgery. Using a UK coordinator Dr Roya of Medicci Aesthetics, all of the arrangements and details for my surgery, aftercare and return home were taken care of so that all I had to do was show up and get put to sleep!

I kept a blog on the entire surgical process, from start to finish and everything in-between in order to share my experience with others at www.tracykiss.com. Just a few years ago I used to faff about with my boyfriend before going on holiday fretting over if I’d packed enough and which terminal to go to at the airport to not miss my flight – now I’m taking flights alone to foreign countries to have surgery and I’m more relaxed and at ease than ever.

It just goes to show that the more times you do something the easier it becomes, and travelling to reach some of the finest surgeons in the world has become normal for me – I’d hardly expect a rockstar, celebrity chef or politician to live two doors down from me, so why should a world famous surgeon be a stones throw away either? As convenient as it may be to have everything you need within a five mile radius of your home, I think it’s safe to say that travelling for expertise is necessary in this day and age and 100% worth it!

My tell-all surgery blog has video footage from my actual surgery, a Youtube series of my progress whilst in Turkey and the UK after, I take questions and answer them all, speaking openly and honestly about what it’s really like to have surgery and I hope that it will help to educate, inform and advise others on how best to seek a reputable surgeon who is highly skilled with 5* aftercare in order to prevent patients from using poor clinics and sub-standard services which can put them at risk.

The more we discuss plastic surgery and share in our experiences, the easier it is for others to see when something doesn’t quite add up or to understand when they’re not getting the proper aftercare that they require. Whilst I had my surgery and recovery in Turkey, I have my UK based aftercare with Medicci Aesthetics in London and have expert advice and high quality aftercare continuously throughout – it’s not just a “fly, snip and bye” for my surgery abroad.

There have been so many horror stories about Brits having dodgy surgeries in foreign countries that leave people injured, infected and disfigured when they return to the UK and I hope to change that by making others aware of the importance of expertise and exceptional aftercare. I’ve used surgery in a safe, positive and healthy way to achieve the body of my dreams and we should all have the freedom to do the same.
